Planes, Trains, & Automobiles Field Trip

The Old Town Rec campers experienced life on the rails today. They were able to choose between an open car or a Pullman-style car. For some campers, it was their first time on a train. Not all campers appreciated the smell of the diesel engine, but all had a good time. The train traveled from Belfast City Point Station to Waldo Station through the woods and over some streams.

The Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad staff gave us the VIP treatment.
Thank you for a great time!

After the train ride, we had lunch and played at the Belfast City Park. The kids had a blast! "It's better than school!" said one camper.

We had quite a mix of activity level on the bus ride home. Some campers had a nap and others were full of energy. Many thanks to our intrepid bus driver who still had a smile when she dropped us off!

K-1 Basketball

Our Kindergarten-1st grade youth basketball program ended with lots of smiles. This group met 6 weeks on Saturday mornings to learn basic skills and rules of the game while having fun. Tag was a great way to sneak in ball-handling practice. Relay races helped with dribbling and speed. Each child grew in skills and confidence over the course of the program.

Lots of smiles on the last day of K-1 basketball
